New Addition to the BlindMonkeyMedia.com Website

blog_online_directory

We have just added an online Costa Rica directory to the BlindMonkeyMedia website in order to keep up with the demand for link exchanges.  Yes, our webmasters were getting a bit stressed with the demand for people wanting a link exchange so we thought we would just make it on everyone and us.

Our online resources directory is a nice little joomla component that allows users to add details about their company and the nice thing is that the links you add to it are dofollow to also help with your SEO ranking and you are able to add meta tags and images to your directory listing.  The only thing we ask in return is that you give us a reciprocal link.

The directory is currently still in Beta stage as we are still trying to figure out what people are looking for in a directory, still adding categories and we are trying to make it look acceptably nice to go along with the site so do please bear with us.

Our Newest Project – Anasovi.org

Our newest project is for the Asociacion Nacional Segundad Oportunidad de Vida in Costa Rica which is basically a support and help group for cancer survivors in Costa Rica.  Of course, they also help out people with cancer and not just survivors.

The association, with the help of Rosario Hoeffner(who is also a cancer survivor) of TicoRealty.com and various other members help out people by giving them items like wigs, bras and so on.

This association is able to help out cancer survivors thru donations from around the world.

We are proud to be part of their project by creating them a new website that will be more user friendly and allow more interactions with its visitors.

If you would like to make donations to ANASOVI, please contact them at: http://www.anasovi.org/index.php?option=com_contact&view=contact&id=2&Itemid=57&lang=en

How Not to Get Hired

A few day ago, we posted a few ads for a content writing position and we received many responses.  Some were excellent and others were not very good.

This brings me to the point of this blog entry.  How can people expect to get hired for a job if they don’t even put any efforts into applying for a job or even follow directions.

Let me give you an example.  This is what one person sent us:

Salutations,

I am a twenty-four year old Advanced University Student of English language and literature. I’ve been fond of writing for the past seven or more years and am apt at the skill. If nothing else, it would be my pleasure to try and please your expectations by mixing my fingers into this proverbial cake you are offering even without emolument; at least until you see whether I fit your standards.

I do so apologize for the lack of a curriculum vitae, but its necessity is not great and therefore I shall just say that during all this time I have had one short story published in WBQ e-zine. The dearth of publishings is due to the limitations of my country and the fact that I am a foreigner to English-speaking countries. Though you should not fear that because I am very proficient in the use of language.

Sincerely yours,

xxxxx xxxxxx

Now tell me, is this someone that you would hire for that position?  I feel like I asted 1 minute of my life reading and I hope that I will never have to see something like that again.

So here is a tip for anyone out there that is applying for a job position.  Send a CV and make sure that you have the necessary skills for the position.  Or at least, the skills to fake that you are qualified for the postion.

SEO Backlink Tips

As my team of SEO experts create quality and valuable backlinks for our clients, we noticed a trend which is concerns us in terms of the SEO industry as the backlinks that other people create are very poor in quality and have no ranking value.

We usually would not be giving out SEO back link tips but as SEO companies create bad and useless backlinks, this effects the whole industry and makes the SEO industry look like a bunch of charlatans and ripp-off artists.

SEO companies have to realize that they have a responsibility when it comes to providing SEO services as our actions is what defines us a good industry or as a bad one.

Its difficult enough getting clients that are willing to pay our rates but it makes it 100 times harder to convince a potential client to use your SEO services when they have had many bad experiences in the past from previous SEO companies.

Without further ado here are some basics do’s and dont tips:

  • Do not Use a robot to spam blog comments.
  • When you create an SEO backlink, make sure that it is a dofollow(its ok if its just for branding purposes)
  • Do not use hidden text
  • Make sure that it is a permanent link
  • An SEO backlink is always more relevant when it is part of an article or a phrase.

They are many more but I hope that this will help.
